Character notes

Loran, of the New Thal Republic's 312th Interspatial Marine Regiment, has spent her whole life at war. Born in 4171 AD on the Thal’s replacement world of New Davius, Loran never knew her mother and father, as they died shortly after she was born, fighting in the millenia-long struggle against the resurgent Dalek Empire. Raised as a soldier from birth, Loran has been genetically altered, like so many of her race, for increased physical prowess and as a result has superhuman strength.

Loran is the perfect soldier serving the Thal Republic.  Brave, yet cautious when needed, her sorrow for those suffering the evils of the Dalek Empire fires her personal quest to fight them at every turn, and in so doing honour the memory of her parents.  Like all Thals of her time, she is aware of the legends of the Doctor and his companions and their aid to her people after the Thousand-Year War, but is not sure whether to believe in them or not.

She would be astonished to meet him and his companions, if it were to ever happen.  She would gladly give her life if it would help the fight against the ever-present Dalek tyranny.

Several years ago, a Thal scout ship she was serving in crashed on the forest planet of Galentor.  The ship was badly damaged, and cannot be used as a transport now, although its hull makes for a serviceable shelter.  She is good comrades with her fellow soldiers, and is honoured to serve under the platoon’s Captain, Durac.
